Sold a Beautiful Home in Blowing Rock!

One of my favorite things about selling real estate in the High Country is finding these hidden gems nestled in the rhododendrons.  This quaint, mountain bungalow holds one of the most unique views of the backside of Grandfather Mountain I’ve ever seen.  The view is a 180° panorama and the home has plenty of privacy.  It may not be the most expensive home on the market but there’s a realness to this mountain home that I love.  I’m proud to represent clients on homes of this ilk that will stay in their families for decades.

Clouds Hovering Over Grandfather Mountain

CloudsfromEchotaontheRidgeCondo-1

Ah, summertime in Boone, NC – does it get any better than this?  Here’s a photo taken from Echota on the Ridge early in the morning with the clouds hovering over the base of Grandfather Mountain and the sleepy town of Foscoe.  Living in the High Country is so serene.  My dad always comments about how unique the clouds are in this area – how can I argue with landscapes like this??

Atop Grandfather Mountain on Thanksgiving

ViewFromGrandfatherMountain-1I’m truly thankful for living in such a beautiful area of the world.  Boone features such amazing terrain and it’s a pleasure to live here.  This photo was taken from Calloway Peak on Grandfather Mtn at over 5900 feet elevation.  Such a great day to be outside!

PS.  We’re extremely grateful to work with such amazing clients too!  Thanks for making this a great year for Boone Real Estate 🙂

Halloween in the High Country

Here are a few photos I took on Halloween of 2013. This photo was taken after the “peak leaf season” but there were still a few trees adjacent Grandfather Mountain that were incredibly brilliant. I think this photo is a great depiction of mood of the High Country this time of year. I love the orange glow of the leaves with Grandfather Mountain in the background, immersed in the late October clouds.

PS. Notice the hawk swirling high above in the first picture.

Boone NC: Mountains with Character

The Appalachian Mountains were formed roughly 480 million years ago (wikipedia).  Needless to say, these mountains are old!  You can see the new growth as spring creeps up the blue ridge mountains.  It’s best if you can get to the top of a big mountain like Grandfather Mountain or Beech Mountain.  It’s just as breathtaking as the vibrant colors of fall in the high country.  If you haven’t seen this natural phenomenon yet, add it to your bucket list!
