Listening to the Ice Melt in Boone and Blowing Rock, NC

The loudest sound in the mountains today is the ice falling off the trees. The strongest one have survived, if slightly bowed for the moment. These natural exigencies are part of the rite of spring. Winter’s last gasp. Almost last gasp as we forecast 5-10″of snow now thru Sunday. But by then we’re in March and winter’s losing her battle with spring. Here comes the sun!

About Bob de Camara

I've been an aficionado of the high country since arriving from Chicago 20 years ago. The beauty blossoms in the contrast! Second only to my affection for the mountains is my enjoyment of sharing their magic with friends.
