The New Hole is a popular destination on the New River. It’s mostly used as a “put-in” spot for tubing, canoeing or kayaking but it’s also a great place to swim. This section of the New River is quite deep which is why it’s a nice swimming hole.

More Info: The New Hole is great area to cool off if you’re on the east side of Boone. Located on the New River, this spot is mainly used to set off on tubes, canoes or kayaks. It’s also a nice swimming hole because the river is wide and fairly deep. If you put in here, you can float down about 5 miles to the Todd General Store which is about a 4-5 hour float. Don’t forget the cooler!
